We ask that parents closely supervise their children in the driveway, hallways, and elsewhere in the School. It is recommended that children exit from cars with caution and be offered a hand to hold. Parents are expected to accompany their child in and out of the School each day. When departing the School please resist having your child(ren) run to the car while you sign them out. Sticking together seems to be a reasonable safety request. So much could happen in a moment or two and we ask for your cooperation. All vehicles need to be shut off when arriving or departing. Please refrain from using your cellular telephone while in the building.

It is a mandated state requirement that each child is signed in and out on a daily basis. This is extremely important since this list is used to check attendance during emergencies, drills, or events. It is mandated to sign our child in and out daily. Children are released only to persons for whom the staff has written permission from the parents. Otherwise, only the people listed on the Consent Release Form will be allowed to pick up. If staff is not familiar with any individual picking up, then a photo ID wil be requested.

If a situation arises where a person other then those listed on the Consent Release Form must pick up your child, the following must occur: a note must be signed by the parent prior to pickup, the note must include the date, the child’s name, and the name of the person the child is being released to. If you choose to add or delete someone from the Consent Release Form, you must see the Director.

The identification of all unfamiliar guests will be checked upon entrance to the building, even if the person is not picking up a child. If a person wishes to visit your child, his or her name must be on the Consent Release Form. Admittance to the building is by a doorbell in the vestibule. The doors are locked at all times for safety. Doors are easily opened from the inside in case of an emergency. Parents willhave passes for immediate entry into the center. All other people requesting entry must be buzzed in. It is asked that all parents who come into the center DO NOT allow anyone to come in behind them that they are unfamiliar with. This will only ensure the safety of all children in our care.

Please do not get angry at staff if they do not open the doors at the end of the day. They may not be familiar with you and they are instructed NOT to open the doors. All parents should have their passes to get in the building. If your pass is lost or misplaced, stop by the office. We are not responsible for lost passes; a new one will be administered at the parent’s expense.
